| The day before the East movers come, pack each plant in an appropriate sized moving box. However, first of all give them a good drink of water, put them in a black trash bag sealed tight, then in the box. Be sure and seal the box. Write "LIVE PLANT" on the outside with arrows pointing upright. If you have a good mover, they will load these last. The larger greenery needs to go in a dishpack, and you probably will not be able to close the box, but still follow the steps, and make some type of plastic cover over these. What happens is they create their own mini environment, and can survive up to a week in these boxes. |

| When receiving quotes from East movers, call the Better Business Bureau and find out what kinds of complaints have been issued against that company and were they satisfactorily settled or not settled at all. Once you have done that then decide on the company that will give you the least problems. |

| Before the East mover leaves, make sure you understand all the paperwork before the driver departs for your new apartment. If there is something that is confusing to you, ask your driver to explain it before you sign it. |

| Before your East mover arrives, get rid of trash and flammable items
Eliminate as much trash as you can before moving day. Last-minute garbage will inevitably build up the day prior to and the day of loading. Try making a deal with a neighbor to use their trash container for your last-minute debris.

| A few apartment communities do not allow moving trucks to enter the premises. This is mainly when the East mover has a large truck. In these case you will be charged for Shuttle Service: This is a fee for the use of a smaller vehicle to provide service to residences that are not accessible to the mover's normal line haul equipment. |

| East movers sometimes charge Line Haul Charges: These are charges for the vehicle transportation portion of your move. These charges apply in addition to the additional service charges. |

| Normally paying your East mover will be done C.O.D., which stands for cash on delivery. Transportation for a private shipper may require C.O.D. at the time of delivery at the destination residence (or warehouse). |
